ATC bested 39 companies that competed nationwide in the Employer Confederation of the Philippines’ (ECOP) Kapatid Award by bagging the Business Resiliency, Continuity, and Sustainability Award last June 28, 2023 at the Manila Hotel in Manila. This solidifies ATC’s reputation, not just in Laguna, but nationwide,
Our 50 year-old company proudly won the award after our representatives led by Atty. Rose Lynn Zara-Coloma, Mr. Don Joseph Rivera, Mr. Jose Romen Gualberto, key supervisors and union officers from ATCSU, ATNLU and BATLU successfully navigated a challenging series of interviews conducted by esteemed government officials and influential leaders from the business sector. There are many notable strengths of ATC, but what truly left a mark on the panel seem to be the following:
1.aLocalization of parts, specifically the transmission assembly case and other heavy transmission parts achieved several key benefits that enhanced ATC’s operational efficiency and overall performance, to wit:
reduced dependence on overseas suppliers/imported materials
substantial cost savings, particularly in logistics, inventory and warehousing costs
faster and more reliable delivery and supply of parts through our partnerships with local suppliers. More importantly, in equipping local suppliers, ATC contributes further to the growth of Filipino businesses, creation of job and economic gain.
2. Tough competition faced by ATC among Alliance affiliates in securing projects. We know that the lifespan of a vehicle model generally does not last a decade. The end of a model leads to the end of a project. Because such project is the bread and butter of this company and the employees and community dependent on ATC, competing among Alliance affiliates across the globe to win a project is a great triumph. The fact that ATC has reached its golden year is a blessing and a testament to the excellence and commitment of ATCians to quality, such that ATC is entrusted one project after another. Over the years, ATC has to prove itself worthy of being awarded projects by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation for it to survive competition through quality, delivery and cost.
3. Industrial peace evidenced not only by our impressive Collective Bargaining Agreement but also by the unity between labor and mgt. who both proudly showcased the best practices of ATC. They cited how they work as a team not only during good times but especially amid tough times (eg, reduced work days).
This award reflects not only our company’s resilience and sustainability but also the deep loyalty of our employees. Many have spent their careers here, and now their children, even grandchildren, continue to carry on the tradition. This enduring commitment fortified with prayers strengthen our foundation and ensures a bright future for the company.
As we celebrate this achievement, we are reminded of Proverbs 13:22:”A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.” This verse speaks to the lasting legacy we build together, ensuring that future generations will thrive as we have.
