By: Jamyca R. Lirio – Legal Assistant -Corporate Division

Under the leadership of Atty. Rose Lynn Zara-Coloma, the first ever female president of the 49 year old Laguna Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Inc. or PCCI-Laguna), and the first ever female Excom of ATC, PCCI-Laguna achieved an unprecedented milestone in history.

At the 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo held at the Marriot Grand Ballroom in Pasay City on October 23, 2025, PCCI-Laguna was honored with 2 Most Outstanding Chamber Awards (MOCA) for provincial, small level category: Most Outstanding Chamber in the Philippines (national award) and Most Outstanding Chamber in South Luzon. Our Atty. Zara-Coloma underwent the test of scrutiny during the panel interview which consisted of officials from the government and the private sector.

The chamber’s strategic contract with Provincial Government of Laguna and the Phil. Disaster Resilience Foundation advocating free monthly trainings for an Area Wide Business Continuity Plan, as well as its strategic partnership with the Laguna Local Economic Development and Investment & Promotion Officer (LEDIPO) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) support to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises were key factors in its success. Notably, ATC benefits for free trainings which have been attended by Managers, Safety Officers and Key Supervisors.

Meanwhile, PCCI Laguna is set to host the 34th South Luzon Business Conference in April 24-25, 2025 entitled “Building Resilience and Sustainability, Embracing Diversity” where roughly 500 persons are expected to attend. It is an auspicious time as the chamber turns 50 years old in 2025.

As Atty.’s Legal Assistant, I am exposed to owners and leaders of big companies and government officers here in Laguna, as well as officers and staff of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Inc. as I constantly communicate with them. This hones my verbal and writing skills, broadens my perspectives and boosts my confidence in dealing with others. I hope that Mancom and supervisors exposed to the activities and events of the chamber feel the same way. Recently, Mr. Legan received on behalf of our Atty. the Certificate of Recognition given by the DTI for its support to the creative industry. Other managers/supervisors, watch out and be excited for your turn to participate.
